Proclaim Liberty Throughout The Land
6/29/08
On this July 4th weekend, Americans are reminded again of our legacy of liberty. The story of our nation’s founding includes images of the Liberty Bell and the Declaration of Independence. I’ve enjoyed rediscovering the symbols
of the liberty tree and the liberty pole and the liberty cap. But all too often, Christians have forgotten that the Bible itself is a book of liberty. In fact, there is a theology of liberty. Our study today is a simple summary of this theology of liberty that we find revealed in both the Old and New Testaments.

Leviticus 25:10-
Government in the Family, Church & State
6/22/08
On Mothers’ Day, we think of the Fifth Commandment of God’s Law: “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you” (Ex. 20:12; Eph. 6:1-4). But the human heart is broken by sin. It is "deceitful above all things and beyond cure" (Jere. 17:9-10). Indeed, all behavior, in the family, church and state, begins with the heart (Mark 7:20-23; Prov. 4:23).

Forget Not The Faith Of Our Fathers
6/15/08
On this Fathers’ Day, we can learn much from considering God as the Father of Israel and Israel as the son
of God. (Eph. 3:14-15.) Deuteronomy is literally Moses “second giving of the Law.” God clearly did not want Israel to forget Him or His Law. The theme here is that God is your Father, Israel, and don’t forget your Father’s teaching!

A Harmony of Interests
6/8/08
The Great Commission declares our desire “to
teach every member, to obey all of Scripture, so that the people of every nation may be reached for Christ.” At Proclamation, We prayerfully seek to be a Reformed Presbyterian Church that has God-centered Worship, Christ-centered Instruction, Spirit filled Fellowship, prayerful Evangelism, and Sacrificial Service for Christ’s Kingdom (WIFES). This vision is a holistic just as the human body is holistic. The body is not a conflict of interests, rather, it is A Harmony Of Interests.

Unsearchable Riches
6/1/08

Riches are hard to come by for most of us. Solomon was one of the few who had such wealth that it was beyond measure. The building of the Tabernacle saw such generosity that it became necessary to say stop giving! Riches are also a great temptation. Satan took Jesus to a high mountain and told Him all of the Kingdoms of the earth would be His if He would worship him. Jesus knew that Psalm 2 had promised Messiah all these things. But He also knew that they were to be His in God’s timing. God indeed has given to Christ, and to His people, Unsearchable Riches.

I Don't Belong
5/25/08
Have you ever gone to a group meeting and left saying to yourself, “I don’t belong”? Maybe you've felt that when when visiting a foreign country where you don’t know the language or the culture. We can also feel like we don’t belong when we sense that we’re not “good enough.” It’s no fun to feel left out and all alone. The experience of disconnectedness, alienation and being alone is not just a phenomenon of modern society or the impersonality of the technological era. It goes right to the very heart of being a human being.

One Body, One Spirit
5/18/08
In human associations our differences often predominate. Whether we consider ecclesiastical denominations, political parties, warring countries, theological differences, ethnic rivalries, economics and class struggles, conflicting aspirations, goals, gender tensions and so on, we see the power of differences to divide us. Jesus prayed for the unity of His people in John 17.

Relevant Religion On Mothers' Day
5/11/08
Some things are irrelevant. Do you know the words spontoon or thill? We no longer have in our homes things that once were everywhere: spinning wheels, coal bins, windmills, buggies, rain barrels. But with all of the changes in our world, Mothers are always relevant.

Christianity is Jewish
5/4/08
There is a tendency today to see Christians and Jews as incompatible. That would be a big surprise to Jesus of Nazareth, who was very Jewish. In fact, the Christ is none other than the Messiah of Israel, and the fulfillment of the law and the prophets.

Just as He Determines
4/27/08
We know that leadership involves decisions, and while some decisions may be unpopular, someone has to make them. In the giving of spiritual gifts to the people of God, we’ll learn that it’s all the work of the Holy Spirit, and He gives them Just As He Determines.

Given Through The Spirit
4/20/08
In some churches, tongues and miracles are considered proof of one’s salvation. But Reformed theology suggests these signs were limited to the early church. Whichever you accept, the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not given to show off ourselves, but to show the presence of Christ. Whatever gifts we may have, they are Given Through The Spirit.

The Common Good
4/13/08
This week we continue our study of the Body Life as it relates to the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We’ll learn of the parallels between the New Testament one another’s and the each ones of the Old. And we’ll reaffirm that the gifts of the Spirit are not given for selfish use, but for The Common Good of the church and the world.

Different Gifts, The Same God
4/6/08
The Biblical church proclaims the Trinity. But the Trinity must be more than just a theological argument or an oft-recited creed. The very body life of the church reveals the Trinity in the manifestation of each one’s spiritual gifts. Join us as we discover that while there are different gifts, they are all from the same God.

Speaking By The Spirit
3/30/08
We all live under the influence of something, and that something can have a profound effect on our lives. But as Christians, the only influence that matters is that of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Join us as we consider the distinctives of Speaking By The Spirit.

Reach Out Your Hand
3/23/08
The miraculous events recorded by the Apostle in John chapter 20 were written so that we may believe and have eternal life. But if you still have doubts, Jesus tells you to Reach Out Your Hand and believe. For then you can use both hands to embrace all that He has given you.

Mutual Edification
3/9/08
This week we explore Paul’s instruction to “do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” The lesson is clear: regardless of our racial or cultural differences, we are called to build one another up in the service of the Lord, and in the spirit of Christian fellowship.

Mutual Encouragement
3/2/08
Our focus this week is on the importance of Mutual Encouragement. The Apostle Paul puts it this way in his letter to the Romans: “I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong…so that you and I may be mutually encouraged by one another’s faith.”

Mutual DIscussion
2/24/08
Fellowship is essential to the body life of the church, and it’s when we recognize the need for one another that a healthy Christian community results. And one of the central aspects of the body life is discussing the Scriptures together. Join us as we learn the importance of Mutual Discussion.

The Spur Of The Moment
2/17/08
Is there a welcome mat at the door of your church? Or is there a sign that says “Sinners need not apply?” If so, the solution lies in the outworking of our relationship with Christ, and our calling to spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Join us for a look at God’s definition of The Spur Of The Moment.

Brotherly Love
2/10/08
The church is a family. And like any family, it has strengths and weaknesses, blessings and conflicts. Salvation is for the individual, but it’s outworking is for the community. Will they know we are Christians by our love? Join us as we look at the real meaning of Brotherly Love.

The Grace Of The Incarnation
1/27/08
Christmas is the miracle of God becoming so human that He was born of a woman. It’s at the heart of the story of redemption. Without the Incarnation, and later the death and Resurrection, there is no other path to eternity in Heaven. Join us as we consider The Grace Of The Incarnation.

A New Command
1/20/08
The Advent season is about God loving sinners. In fact, God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son to die for us. Therefore, we must not love the world, but Christ and his people, with a true one another love in both word and deed. Learn how in this week’s message, A New Command.
