Other Methods Of Support

There are many ways to partner with Proclaiming The Word that you may not have considered. A gift can be made through your living trust or will, your retirement plan and various annuities, stocks and securities. The additional appeal of these options is that, while benefiting the ministry of Proclaiming The Word, you may be able to avail yourself of significant tax benefits.

  1. Why Should I Give?
There are probably as many reasons to give to charity as there are charities to give to, but they generally can be divided into three broad categories. The first is supporting an organization or cause you care about. The second is to leave a personal—and often also a family—legacy. Both of these reasons are very personal, and only you and your family can determine how they should impact your charitable giving strategy.
But the third reason will require more than just soul-searching. It’s to save taxes, and you will need to be familiar with the subtleties of the tax law to be able to make wise decisions about how charitable giving should fit into your personal long-term wealth management plan.
  2. What Assets Should I Give?
Although the simplest kind of contribution is cash, other types of contributions may carry additional tax benefits, leaving more for you and/or the charity.
    • Appreciated stock. If you have appreciated stock, donating it rather than converting to cash makes sense. Not only can you avoid paying capital gains tax, you get the income tax deduction for the entire donation.
    • Life insurance. The wealth management benefit of life insurance (a relatively small cash outlay can produce a comparatively large future benefit) can benefit a charity as well. In a typical scenario, you would pay the insurance premiums and the charity would be the policy owner and the beneficiary. Also, depending on the method used, you may be eligible for a tax deduction. There are a number of options available, which can be discussed with a life insurance professional. This can also be done with existing policies that may have outlived their original intent.
    • Bequests at death. Have your will dedicate assets to the charitable cause. This gift is estate tax deductible.
    • Please consult a professional Financial Planner and an Attorney if you have questions concerning creation or amendment of your will, and please let us know if you’ve included Proclaiming The Word in your will, so that we can properly acknowledge your gift and to express our thanks for your faithful support and partnership. Include us in your will or living trust.

Proclaiming The Word will gratefully acknowledge all gifts in any form to the work of this Ministry.

A gift bequest is a lasting testament to insure the Great Commission through sound Biblical Teaching.

Proclaiming The Word is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
